SO! Some people have been getting their visa's!!! So Im pretty sure mine will come within the next 5 weeks but really I am so happy to be here and I love every minute of it and I'm in a great companionship and we all are working hard and we have 9 people on baptismal dates!!
So it is amazing the work is flourishing we really wish our area would receive another sister missionary though so we could split our area because there are SO many people we are trying to meet with its really hard to give them all the amount of attention they need. something that has been really helpful though is to start giving people baptismal calanders so that we write down scriptures they should read each day and remind them. That seems to be working. Sometimes people just need a little push.
SO miracle of the day is that in personal study today I was reading an ensign article actually this was before personal study because I like getting ready for the day quickly so I have more time to study and read general conference talks. Because those words of wisdom from modern prophets IS the revelation we need to hear. Anyways one of the talks I believe from 2011 general conference was talking about men who weren't able to go on missions and because of it became inactive. Then it was saying how important it was for these men to realize that they STILL are SO important in God's eyes and just because they weren't able to serve a mission doesn't make them any less of a good member of the church. And they should focus on the priesthood power they DO have. SO then today being our preperation day we came here to the Sycamore center (community center that has computers and honestly is wonderful for the kids in the area because its completely free) anyways we were going in and a man called out to us and asked where we were from. And this man is smoking. And so we figure he isnt a member and ask him if he has talked to missionaries before and he was like. Actually I am a member then proceeded to tell us how he wasn't allowed on a mission. And I felt the spirit so strong and I testified to him of how important he was and how he can still be a missionary by being an example to other people and just because he wasn't able to go on a mission doesn't make him any less of a good member (he couldnt go for medical reasons) and so my companions also encouraged him and testified to him in this way and by the end he said "Well...maybe I will go back to church then." I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for us all and he puts us in situations to help people and that we talked to him for a reason also I know we will be sending missionaries over to him :)
So anyways that was a wonderful experience and I am so grateful that Heavenly Father allowed me to read that talk so that I could share it with him.
Well I am very grateful to be here and as I said things are going really well. I really love the people and want them to progress, a lot of times people don't come to church which is the major hang up but for the most part they are good with us continuing to come back.
So something that is cool is that the amount of lessons we have had in a week was so high that our district leader congratulated us, then our zone leader, THEN the assistants to the president and then our President Batt himself. Sooooo that was pretty cool but we want to do even Better this next week. Honestly there are SO many people we could see, and I know this is only possible with the Lords help because there is no way things would be this effective without him. Oh and we have AMazingggg spanish Elders who tract basically ALL day since they can Only teach those who speak spanish so they are Constantly giving us amazing referals. Its normal to get a referal from elders maybe once every other week. We received 7 referals from them! And the people they give us are SO prepared. And so they might not see any effect from all their hard work but I know they have done so much in helping us. I read a quote the other day it said - you can count the amount of seeds in a single apple but you cannot count the amount of apples in a single seed. What is so important about this is realizing that sometimes we really don't see the end result but we need to trust in the Lord and do what we would want us to do and know that the people we encountered are effected and sometimes it may be many years down the road but there is a result. And sometimes its just to soften someones heart.
But I am so grateful for the Gospel and being able to share it.
Well I love you all, and I'm so grateful for your letters! I love hearing from you all!
Love sister Kimball
